Abstract
Corporate failure is a serious issue that affects the economy and public trust. In Malaysia, past scandals and weak governance have shown the need for better rules and stronger oversight. To improve this, the government and regulators introduced reforms like the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance, sustainability reporting standards, and risk management guidelines. These changes aim to make companies more transparent, responsible, and prepared for future challenges. However, some companies still struggle to follow the rules properly. This paper looks at Malaysia’s current situation, the progress made, and what can be done to strengthen corporate governance and prevent future failures.
